CIRCE ©
This design is inspired by Circe, the Greek goddess of witchcraft. Intelligent and powerful, she had knowledge of witchcraft, herbalism and medicine. She also knew about maps and navigation, so she was able to show Odysseus the correct route to Ithaca.
She possessed a wand with the ability to transform her enemies, or those who offended her, into animals.
Over time, his myth was transformed and blurred.
In later Christian view, Circe was an abominable witch who used her miraculous powers for evil purposes. The archetype of the predatory woman.
We wanted to represent that first version of CIRCE, powerful and intelligent 🥰
The illustrations are inspired by classic paintings by Waterhouse and Bouguereau.
