This design is inspired by the era of the great Irish migration to North America in the mid-19th century. The Irish brought their festivities and traditions, and there in the United States, they integrated and transformed Halloween from the ancient Celtic festival that commemorated the beginning of winter, when the souls of the dead walked the earth, into a night of entertainment where instead of making turnip lanterns, they made them from pumpkins, which were abundant there. Halloween night in Victorian America was an excuse for adults and young people to socialize, a time to remember the magic and mystery of ancient festivities 🎃
