This design is inspired by the Greek myth of Eos, the Titan goddess of the dawn.
Eos opened the gates of heaven with her "rosy fingers and golden arms" so that Helios could drive his chariot across the sky each day.
She shines upon all those on earth and upon the immortal gods who dwell in the wide sky.

On his back appear his two siblings, Helios ☀️ the personification of the Sun, and Selene 🌙 the personification of the Moon.
Helios was imagined as a beautiful god crowned with the bright halo of the sun, who drove a chariot across the sky each day to the Ocean that encircled the earth and returned across it at night.
