VALKYRIES ©
The Valkyries or Valkyries (from Old Norse: valkyrja, 'choosers of the fallen in battle') are dísir, female deities from Norse mythology.
Its main purpose was to choose the most heroic of those who fell in battle and take them to Valhalla, since Odin needed warriors to fight at his side in the battle of the end of the world, Ragnarök.
In heroic songs they were described as bands of warrior women riding among the ranks of the gods.
Valkyries are associated with ravens, the main animals owned by the god Odin. Valkyries may have been an ideological and mythological evolution of the raven figure, this bird that is present after all battles, devouring the bodies of the dead.
To represent them we have been inspired by illustrations and engravings from the 19th century.
